How to Onboard: Garo Entity Pro

This article will talk you through how to connect a Garo Entity Pro charger to the Clenergy EV back office.

Please note: The Garo app is frequently updated. As such, the following screenshots may not reflect the exact screens you will see in the app.

  1. Download the Garo Connect app for your Android/Apple device from the following links:

  2. Install and open the app on your device. Select New User and follow the registration process to register as an installer.
  3. Once registered, return to the Welcome screen and enter your login details in the required fields to proceed.
  4. On the Overview screen, select the menu in the top right corner.
  5. Select Installers menu from the list.
  6. Select New installation for new location from the installers menu.
  7. Enter the site details for the installation as required into the relevant fields.
  8. Set the coordinates by selecting the icon on the left hand side of the screen, and tick to acknowledge the disclaimer. Select the Create location button to proceed.
  9. Select Add new unit + to proceed.
  10. Enter the device name and select Create Unit at the bottom of the screen.
  11. Read the information regarding the internet/grouping and select the I have understood button to proceed.
  12. Enter the Group name, Group/Charging station max current (A) and select Next to proceed.
  13. Select Continue installation to begin the configuration.
  14. Ensuring the charging unit has been disconnected from the bracket, select Read QR code on bracket.
  15. Once successfully scanned, select Complete to continue.
  16. Select Continue installation to begin the internet setup.
  17. Fit the charger to the backplate and select Read QR code. Scan the QR code on the front of the unit and select Next once successful.
  18. Follow the on-screen instructions for powering up the charger then select Next to proceed.
  19. The following screen will display whilst a connection is established. Confirm the connection when prompted.
  20. Select your method of internet connection for the installation from the drop-down menu. When prompted, enter the relevant credentials to join the correct network. Select Close, then Next to proceed. Please note: A Wifi/Ethernet connection is heavily recommended for both the firmware update and to quicker establish a connection to the Clenergy EV back office.
  21. Once the internet connection is established select Close to proceed.
  22. Once the internet connection is established select Close connection and Complete to proceed.
  23. Select Continue installation to begin the Software update.
  24. Update the firmware if required or if already updated select Complete.
  25. Select Continue installation to begin configuring the charger settings.
  26. Configure the electrical settings as required in the relevant fields. Then select Other settings and scroll to the OCPP connectivity menu at the bottom of the screen.
  27. In the OCPP connectivity menu, click Select from list.
  28. Select Clenergy-EV in the displayed list, then click Select to confirm.
  29. Ensuring the Clenergy EV URL is displayed in the GaroRemoteCsmsUrl field, select Complete to proceed.
  30. Select Reboot now for the changes to take effect.
  31. Once the charger has rebooted (LED turned green) select Continue installation to enter the testing stage of the installation.
  32. Ensure the charger is electrically and structurally sound and check against all points raised in the Test Charging literature. Once satisfied, select Complete and Mark as installed when prompted to complete the installation.
